BILL MELTON Mr. Melton received his Bachelor of Music in 1984 from Columbus State University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He also received his Masters of Music from Columbus State University in 1985 where he served as a graduate assistant under Col. Hal Gibson. Mr. Melton has been teaching for 14 years. He has been at Whitewater for the last ten years. He has also taught school in Florida and served as assistant band director at Fayette County High School in Fayetteville, Georgia. Bands under his direction have played for Chick-Fil-A founder Truett Cathy, former Atlanta Braves Dale Murphy and Congressman, Newt Gringrich. The band has also been invited to play at Walt Disney World three times, Six Flags Over Georgia, Opryland in Nashville University of Georgia, Georgia Music Educator State Convention University of Georgia and Universal Studios in Orlando. He was named Teacher of the Year for Whitewater during the 2001-2002 school year. He is currently a member of Music Educators National Conference, Georgia Music Educators Association and Professional Association of Georgia Educators. |
