BAND
GENERAL MEETING
JANUARY 22, 2001
The meeting was called to order by Bill Melton at 7:08 PM.
The past meeting minutes were read by secretary Tina DeCotis. Past minutes
were approved.
The Treasurer's report was given by Laura Danclovic. There is a balance of
$2,455.00.
A report was given on the Barbecue dinner. A net profit of $385 was made.
The boosters will look at an alternative dinner option since this was not as
profitable as expected.
The Valentine's Dance will be held on February 13th. Volunteers will be
needed 2 weeks prior to the dance to take orders for flowers and candy.
A pre-festival concert will be held on February 20th with judges available
to critique each band.
Festival will be held on March 8-10 at Clayton Performing Arts Center.
Times will be forthcoming.
Band pictures will be taken January 25th at a cost of $17. Per package.
CD's will also be available at the end of the year with a cost of
approximately $10 each.
The Orlando Trip will be 5/10 - 13th. Approximately 30 chaperones will be
needed for this trip. The cost will be $ 330.00. The band will perform at
Live Oak Middle School and Universal Studios in Orlando.
Chick-fil-A coupons are still available at a cost of 2.50 each.
The Art Auction will be held on March 2nd to benefit the Fine Arts
department at Whitewater. The band will be responsible for clean-up this
year.
Solo and Ensemble will be held on May 19th at WMS. Interested students
should submit their form to Mr. Melton.
Auditions for band placement next year will be held after Spring break.
